SUSAN CHAN SHIFFLETT

B.S. in Biology at Yale University
M.A. in Int'l Economics at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies
Susan is a former Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Yale, where she evaluated over 2,500 applications. 

Throughout Susan's career, she has focused on education and international relations spanning public, private, and non-profit sectors. She has been interviewed on outlets such as Good Morning America, ABC, CBS, and CNBC to discuss issues of higher education and admissions.

Susan worked at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, where she managed a $12+ million budget of trade promotion and education activities. She led the agency's Traditional Energy and Power Team and was the recipient of the Agency's Innovation Award (peer-nominated) for two years in a row.

Prior to USTDA, Susan was a program associate at the Woodrow Wilson Center's China Environment Forum, where she became a thought leader on U.S.-China food security issues. After working at Yale from 2005-2007, Susan worked in Beijing, China and served as a Yale alumni interviewer and helped implement the 1st Yale Book Award Program in China.

She currently resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area with her husband, kids and Golden Retriever. In her spare time, she enjoys playing guitar, following UCLA gymnastics, scouring Yelp for good eats, and doing barre.

MADELEINE BRODER

B.S. in Psychology at Yale University
Choate Rosemary Hall magna cum laude
Madeleine was born and raised in Connecticut, where she graduated from The Foote School, Choate Rosemary Hall, and Yale University.

During her college admissions process, Madeleine was accepted to Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, and Wesleyan University.

Madeleine began her teaching career with an internship at Pathfinder (Hopkins School). She worked as a classroom teacher before moving into the private tutoring space. Her students have gained admission to Ivy League and other Top 20 institutions, including Cornell, Georgetown, Columbia, Brown, Yale, UPenn, Northwestern, Dartmouth, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and UCLA, among other prestigious schools. She has served as an alumni interviewer for Yale University. 

Madeleine began her international experience on the Elite Scholars of China team. She gained her appreciation of China through visiting Yali Middle School (Foote’s sister school in China), as well as from her father’s experience teaching at University of Wuhan with the Yale China Fellowship and her grandfather’s experiences reporting in China as a journalist for The Washington Post.

Madeleine lives with her husband and step-son in Colorado on a hobby farm with four alpacas, eleven chickens, five dogs, and three cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading, knitting, and going to Jazzercise classes.

JASON WONG

A.B. in Social Studies
Harvard University

Jason grew up in San Francisco, and developed his passion for education while serving on the San Francisco Board of Education from 2003 to 2006. His signature legislation promoted extracurricular experiences as an important component for student development. 

When applying to college, Jason was admitted to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, University of Chicago, Columbia, Swarthmore, New York University and Tulane. After graduating with a A.B. in Social Studies from Harvard and a teaching credential, Jason worked at BNP Paribas in Hong Kong, before joining a $20 billion mutual fund based in Miami as one of only two research associates. Jason later became the first full-time hire for Uber in South Florida and China Head of Driver Engagement, led Mobike's US operations as Regional General Manager, and served as budget director for the 2018 Democratic Party Gubernatorial campaign in Florida. Besides mentoring students, Jason currently spends his time traveling, volunteering, stocks, real estate and keeping an eye out for the next Uber.

Recent Cases: Represented 1 of only 55 admitted to the University of Pennsylvania Management and Technology program (2020), 2 of only 15 students from China admitted to Princeton (2020), 1320 SAT student admitted with full financial aid to Harvard (2018), and multiple top 10 offers every year. Since 2008, Jason has helped over one hundred students of all backgrounds get into top schools. 

H. Joon Park

Joon has more than 12 years of consulting and coaching experience for students attending colleges and graduate schools in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and more.

Prior to devoting his career to education, Joon had over 30 years of experience in finance, trading, and business development. He established a securitization platform for $35 billion for G.E. Capital. Beforehand, he launched energy/power trading for R.D. Shell monetizing physical assets, managing risk systems, and more. Joon also was the VP for the newly established Independent Risk Management unit at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, the largest bank in the world at the time. Joon started his Wall Street career in portfolio strategy and risk management at Credit Suisse First Boston.
